Trying to make your first dime online and someone has promoted Wix.com to you, but you want to learn how to make money on Wix?
No worries!
I can save you the trouble and help you go in the right direction since the start by explaining ten different methods instead of going after the wrong way that others might tell you to do in order to earn from Wix.com.
Make sure that you check method #10 in the list below, as it is the best for me.
10 Ways to Make Money on Wix
1 – Display Ads
If you have a Wix website or blog that is getting a good amount of traffic, then the easiest way to make money with it is through showing display ads where you get paid either per click on those ads, or per view.
There are many services that you can use in order to monetize your Wix website or blog with display ads such as Google Adsense (the easiest), Mediavine, ThriveAds, and more.
Each network of display ads has its own requirements, and each pays different from the other.
However, as a general rule, you need to have a lot of traffic in order to make money on Wix with display ads, and sometimes you need a lot of traffic in order to get accepted by ad networks.
2 – Affiliate Marketing
This is my favorite way of making money online with any website, whether it was built with Wix website builder or any other builder.
What you do with affiliate marketing on a Wix site is that you promote products related to your audience through a unique link that you place somewhere on your web pages, and you encourage your site’s visitors to click on that link and buy the product if it was useful for them.
This is the best alternative to display ads in particular, and the second-best way for making money with Wix sites in general. (Method #10 below is the best way for earning money with Wix.com)
In general, to succeed with affiliate marketing, you need to provide value to your audience first, and promote only products that really help them in achieving desired results or solving their problems.
But this method requires that you create a good number of helpful blog posts in order to get traffic that you can monetize.
But the downfall is that Wix is not really good for blogging for many reasons, which is why I prefer that you first move your site to WordPress and then you start creating content and monetize your blog with affiliate marketing.

3 – Wix Affiliate Program
Like you can make money on a Wix site or blog with affiliate marketing by promoting products that are relevant to your audience, you can also make money by promoting Wix as an affiliate through the Wix affiliate program.
Wix pays its affiliates a bounty commission for every new paying customer the affiliate brings to them.
And while this is a great way to make money with Wix, but I don’t really recommend it as Wix is not a reliable platform for building websites or ecom stores, and you would be better off promoting a respectful WordPress web hosting service such as A2 Hosting and SiteGround.
4 – Wix Partner Program
The Wix Partner program, which is included with the Wix affiliate program, allows you to create and manage Wix sites for others through your Wix partner dashboard.
How do you make money as a Wix Partner?
You simply charge your clients for creating and managing their sites.
However, depending on your status, if you become a Wix Legend partner, you qualify for getting 20% of whatever your client pays when they upgrade to any of the Wix 1,2, or 3-year plans.
Shopify’s affiliate and partner program has a similar concept, but their, you get 25% on recurring basis for whatever your client pays regardless of the plan.

5 – Dropshipping
Dropshipping is a way of making money with Wix ecommerce stores.
In short, with this model you create a store on Wix where you add products that you don’t have in stock yet, in agreement with the suppliers.
And you list the products for the price that you want to sell them at, which are higher than the prices of the suppliers, and you market these products in different ways.
And when you get any sale, you receive the money from the customer, you pay to the supplier for the product and the shipping, and then the supplier will ship the product to your customer directly.
And you keep the margin.
And although this is a good way to make money with Wix shops online, but can do it more efficiently with Shopify, for the many reasons I mentioned in my Shopify vs. Wix stores comparison.
6 – Print on Demand
POD is another way for making money with Wix stores.
Similar to dropshipping, you don’t buy any inventory with POD, but what you do here is that you customize certain products such as t-shirts, leggings, mugs, …etc., with your own design, and you list the unique items on your Wix online store to sell them.
And when someone buys anything from your Wix store, you then pay the fulfillment company, and they will ship the product on your behalf.
7 – Sell Your Physical or Digital Products
If you have your own products that you want to sell online, then this is another way of making money with Wix.
Similar to the two previous methods above, you can list products on your Wix store to sell them and receive money online.
But this way, you need to fulfill the order and ship the product by yourself.
However, depending on your industry and your audience, selling digital products might be a more viable way of making money online as these have lower markup cost.
And you can sell digital products and earn money on a Wix website.
Some ideas of digital products and downloads are:
- Ebooks.
- Templates.
- Spreadsheets.
- Calculators and software tools.
- Video courses.
- …etc.
8 – Sell Your Service
Since you can use Wix websites to receive payments from others, you can sell almost anything you want.
Another example is selling a service that you can provide remotely.
This could be a consultation video call, a video live fitness or yoga (or any) class, web design, graphic design, …etc.
And you can even use a calendar to allow your clients to choose the appointment time if you want to give a consultation or a live video class.
9 – Develop Apps
Another way for making money with Wix.com company is by developing and selling Wix apps.
These are add-on’s that Wix website users can use in order to add a certain functionality to their sites, or to make some tasks easier, such as apps to make dropshipping easier, pop-up creator apps, …etc.
You can list your apps for free, or you can charge a monthly fee for them, and you share with Wix company the revenue.
10 – Help Others Move Away from Wix (My Secret Method)
Finally, my favorite (and secret) way for earning money from Wix, which is by helping the current Wix users to move their sites and stores away from Wix.com to other website builders and hosting services.
The reason for that is simple, which is the fact that Wix is not worth paying for anymore.
Wix.com has a very low rating from real users because of the many issues and the lack of support (1.5 of 5 stars), and it just keeps going down.
And many people are looking for a way to move their sites from Wix to other platforms, and sometimes they feel stuck because they don’t know how to do it.
And you can be their savior, and help them move their sites to other platforms, in exchange of a certain fee that you decide based on how big their websites or stores are, and on how much it takes you to finish the project.
And even if you don’t know how to do that, you can easily learn how to do it, and then offer the service.
You basically need to learn two things:
- How to move normal Wix sites and blogs to WordPress.
- How to move Wix e-commerce stores to Shopify or WordPress.
And you can learn both within a week or less, and then start offering this service to people who don’t know how to do it.
Even if you have your own Wix site or store, you can start and learn by moving your site to WordPress for example, and then you have the confidence of selling this service to others.
Want more money?
What you can do also is that when you help your clients to move from Wix to other services such as Shopify or A2 Hosting, you can get a commission from those services, as an affiliate or as a partner, exactly like Wix partners and affiliate make money when referring people to this company.
But how do you start getting clients to make money from Wix users?
After learning how to migrate websites from Wix to other platforms, you can list a service on freelancing marketplaces such as Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer, or others.
And you specify the details of the service, and you place your price, and either customers will contact you, or you can bid on certain projects that are listed on these platforms.
Or, you can create a simple affiliate site with WordPress, and you create content answering peoples’ questions about Wix, such as:
- Is Wix good
- Is Wix legit
- Wix review
- Is Wix safe
- And so on.
And you create an article for each of these searches, you give people the answer, and then you tell them that it would be better to create a website on WordPress or Shopify, and you provide your affiliate link to the hosting service you promote, or you offer selling them your service of creating a website or online store.
This is much better than listing your service on freelancing platforms that are very competitive.
If you want to learn how to create a website and monetize it in order to make money off Wix this way, you can join Wealthy Affiliate, who provide training and WP hosting in one package in order to help you build your online business.
